Amy is a parent and freelance writer, currently living in Colorado. She has a BA in Communications and a Master’s in Psychology. She has a background in case management and spent several years working with the Special Education Division of the Wyoming Department of Education. She is well-versed in how children learn, the education system, and education reform.
She has raised one child with a disability, and has a ten-year-old daughter with ADHD, whom she has chosen to homeschool. The single mom has made it a priority to educate others about the current state of education reform and what it means for our children, our families, our teachers, and our country. Amy published “Common Core and the Truth: A Parent’s Journey Into the Heart of the Core” last fall, and is currently working on a guide to fight Common Core.
